Circling off Ramsgate
'Marine panoramas' from a fishing boat in the English Channel.
Created aboard a working fishing vessel off the coast of Ramsgate, these holographic panoramas capture the continuous horizon and shifting light of the English Channel. The circular motion of the boat creates a perpetual reframing of sea and sky, making visible the relationship between observation, movement, and place.
The work examines how our perception of maritime space is shaped by constant motion and the industrial rhythms of fishing, transforming an ordinary working environment into a site for investigating the representation of landscape, labor, and the changing character of coastal Britain.
